Imagine my suprise when I hike out to the mailbox and find:
1. No bills (Woo Hoo)
2. TDR Magazine with Steve S. L. awesome covershot (Woo Hoo Woo Hoo)
3. Dodge's quarterly rag (Winter 2002 edition). (Woo)
Figure I'll read the dodge mag first to get it out of the way, knowing that the TDR mag deserves much more attention than I can give in the twenty minutes prior to dinner. So I start flipping through - while it refrreshes my memory of events that occurred 4 months ago, and next on to scanning a human "interest story" (this quarter's story is on using a Caravan to haul llamas), BUT, I Flip to... . an article entitled:
Dodge Owners Clubs Rock America -
4 paragraphs in all for the entire article. First two devoted entirely to the TDR. Third to the Durango crowd, 3 sentances to the Vipers mixed in with the conclusion
Starts off with Artie Johnsen's formation and development of LIC-ROC (Long Island club) after noticing that all the TDR clubs were west or midwest. Second paragraph quotes Robert Patton on the Internet as the "CB radio for the new millenium". And thats it - nomore TDR info, but especially no links to tdr. - But still half the article is TDR!! and our trucks.
So I turn the page, remembering that I cannot ever recall reading an article in this magazine encompassing more than two pages, BUT:
there's the link to tdr1.com plus 2 pictures of 1) (sic)"Charlotte Scarry guarding husband Jim's rare 3500 Ram Diesel with single wheels" and 2) a group picture of ~800 folks at the Cummins plant.
Also according to page one we are referred to as "turbo heads" and also are "promoting safe and environmentally sound use of their vehicles"
nonetheless, kudos to the TDR admins and congrats to Artie
Wondering if this article could explain the board's spike yesterday????
