Where are the May Madness Posts?

Is there anyone else out there who has not received the latest issue of the TDR magazine? Several folks in the boards have referred to articles/ads etc. in the latest issue of the mag, so I know some folks have theirs. I'm in Georgia, so I would think I'd be among the first to get mine. I'm beginning to wonder if I've been overlooked or if mine's lost in the mail.

Thanks for the inputs everyone, sounds like I'm not alone! I'm a fairly new member (this will be my second mag) and I didn't know how things worked regarding magazine distribution. I guess I still don't know, but from what y'all are saying, it appears they're mailed out in several batches, I'll try to be patient.

I haven't gotten mine yet either. The way I understand it they go out bulk mail. That means they get worked on at the different post offices when they have the time available. It seems to be random when you get yours in. Sometimes I'm one of the first to receive mine and sometimes I'm one of the last - and I'm a staff writer!!

05/14/01 update!
Got the new issue in the mailbox, today. I haven't opened the magazine as I was more excited to see the Geno's Garage flyer advertising the most popular brand of tonneau cover around here.

I'll complain about the lack of 12V section later.

Cheers;
John E

"Got mine, but did anyone else notice there's no 12v section? What happened? Missed deadline?"

WELL, I've just renewed for another year, and tho' many articles in TDR are INTERESTING, not all that many, OR various aftermarket items listed there by advertisers, are applicable to my '91 Cummins, or the truck itself. Entertainment is OK, but we have TV for that - and *I* subscribed to TDR for useful info that will help ME improve my truck. IF articles, advertisers and associated info that applies to what *I* drive is gonna disappear, SO AM *I*!... #ad

Please forgive my rant, but this trend to ignore the older Cummins rigs that got all this niche of diesel powered pickups STARTED for Dodge, has seemingly been on the increase in the TDR mag, and since I plan on keeping my older truck for some time yet ( that's the REASON for diesel power, remember?), it irritates me to see a steady stream of newly developed performance and appearance goods for the later trucks as guys like ME stand wistfully watching on the sidelines!

I got mine on the 11th, but I am getting a little unhappy------am I the only one who does NOT want to read about the Chevy, or Sam's motor home or some guy speaking psycho-babble? and is Kevin Cameraon (sp) getting way to technical? Do I really care about some country singer? (yea, county is my favorite music, but thats not what I want to read in the TDR---had to write Patton a protest letter.
No, I am not just ignorant---undergrad major was pshchology, but is that why I subscribe to 'TDR'? And I was not thrilled to read about the detroit auto show. I get plenty of that stuff in other pubs.
Am I just out of step?
I want to read about our trucks----and I do not object to articles about aspects that do not directly pertain to me--i. e. 12 valve articles while I have the 24-its still about our Cummins and I like knowing about the Other cummins too.

Since I started this topic, I feel obligated to let everyone know that I received my copy of the magazine yesterday (5-16).

Received mine yesterday (15th). Haven't had time to look through it yet, but I will soon.

merryman has got a point- there's a LOT of stuff printed that has nothing to do with the Dodge/Cummins.

I believe the latest mag stated in the front part of it that some items had to be cut (12 valve/1st gen. ?) from the issue because of page totals.

I don't want to read about Country singers or Chevrolets for $35 for 4 issues- bring back the Dodge/Cummins articles!
