how 'bout a CD

wouldn't it be great to be able to buy a CD with the TDR mags for years past. Storage of the paper product is a hassle these days.

any chance ?

It's been discussed. As I understand it the problem is that the magazine isn't in an electronic format making it possible to easily produce a CD. With the number of orders for past issues it doesn't make economic sense for them to spend the time to convert them - they'd never make the money back. There are past issues available for most of the months that you can purchase. They can be purchased by clicking on the subscribe link on the left side of the front page or by calling Geno's garage.

P. S. I just added a Buy Back Issues link as well

thanks Steve, the issue is storage not availability. If the magazine data is on a computer a CD could be burned even if it was just document format without the need for viewer. I work for computer co. and our documentation people are just down the hall. send me a PM if this project would like to be pursued.

During my last year of residency, I single-handedly scanned 8176 pages (basically 2 large boxes filled to the brim with paper  ) of board review materials, printed them to PDF documents and burned them on a single CD for portability. Took about 100 hours. Boring but doable ;) Sign me up for a copy!

If the "old-timers"

that have a gud collection of back issues (I don't) could get permission to scan them in, we could probably get them burned to a CD at less cost. I would buy the CD(s) but am not in the market for more paper ones (limited storage).

How's bout it? Maybe every 4 yrs a CD with the issues (that's 16 on a CD)? That way we could "donate" the old mags to the local libraries, hospitals, etc (and advertise for more members)? If I had more than 2yrs worth I would be happy to scan or loan them to a person to scan (don't have scanner either but could get one if necessary). Steve could probably make space avail on the server for the uploads and then we could do this as a "members only" project and relieve the powers-that-b from the chore until sale time. This would give them some 'extra' income for "bombing" the servers or site maintenance (maybe??)?

Just another thought... ... ... . 0. 015$ worth

SOTSU!!
