All,

I just got a call from a TDR member from Olympia, Washington who is on his way south. His clutch master/slave cylinder seems to have gone out on his truck. He's towing a horse trailer, and the clutch system went out when he stopped to fuel up in Redding, CA. He got my name and number from our TDR Travel Companion. Since I'm a little over 200 miles south of Redding, I dug out the newest TDR magazine and referred him to JH Performance which is in Redding (they have an ad in the Vendor section of the magazine). He's going to call them now, but doesn't expect they are open today (Sunday).

If anyone lives in or near Redding, if you are interested in giving this guy a call, even if just for moral support, he and his wife would sure appreciate a friendly voice.

Thanks all,

I gave George a call and walked him through a few questions to see what might be the problem. Turns out he has a South Bend Clutch... good thing. it is the 13" upgrade.

Gave him directions to J & H Performance (by the way, great call on a place to go) and told him what ever he needed we could have it there red label if he could not find it locally. I am on vacation this week but will leave word with the crew.

This forum rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and talked to him to see if he had horses he needed taken care of while he was down. I guess he is hauling furniture. Sounded like he had everything under control.

Thanks to all who responded

Thanks to everyone who responded with offers of help and ideas.

Took the truck to J & H Performance Diesel in Redding on Monday morning.

Despite having only 50% of their staff available (the other 50% were on there way home from the diesel drags in Indiana), they were able to look at my truck almost immediately.

It turned out to be a bad pilot bearing, which of course messed up the input shaft. They were able to get the parts and I was on my way the next day.

I appreciate the quick service, and the reasonable price.

If your ever in Redding and need some help, this would be the place to go.
