Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Tdr pays off again

Was reading through issue 23 and thers info on recalls for the 98 24 valve. Anyway I found out my truck has the wrong dipstick part number 3944594 this causes an overfill buy 1 1/2 quarts .

If you put 11 qts in it with a new filter, you are not over filling it! Do that and remark the dipstick! Chris

You have been filling with 12 1/2 guarts then? to make the full mark? 10 qts crank case 1 qrt filter on a stock rig. 11 qrts total. 12 with a by pass filter Frantz or Amzoil. And you've owned your truck how long?

Thanks for the replies . I've been dumpin 3 gallon in put it just above the full line a tiny bit . It also burns that extra off in about a thousand miles an I wasn't sure why now I know.

I'm going to go see if this other truck has the right dipstick since its not operational right now just for fun

1 in filter 9.5 in pan is 1/8 inch above full mark on my 1.

Is the part number on the dipstick?
I don't have my truck handy to check. I've always just dumped 3 gallons in and called it good, which has put it just over full mark.

Yes the part is on the dipstick . number for the incorrect dipstick is 3944594
The correct part number is 3935648 .
