Posting problems on the site starting 7/11 around 10pm through today

every few days, it looks like the cookies set by this site get dropped for some reason. it is annoying to have to log in every time. i am just wondering if the problem is happening to other people here? or is it a problem with my computer. i run IE 6. 0

anyone have any imput?

It's enough to make ya wanna TOSS yer cookies!:D

I had that problem right after the server change, but not since - I also noticed what appeared to be some sort of system glitch this morning, when I logged in and there were only an indicate *3* new messages on the board from the evening before...

Server's messed up tonight, notice many multiple posts. Last time I posted it took forever and when it finally finished it had posted three times, I only clicked submit once.

I had some trouble posting last night too Illflem. I couldn't log in to the server at the time either. After researching it this morning it looks like there was either a backbone or a facility problem last night that caused the problem. The site didn't go down but sending things to it took a long time and some stuff seemed to get echo'd. Looking at the server logs there's nothing strange that happened at the server and the loads never went above their normal levels and things are back to normal this morning. I'll be monitoring it closely.

COOKIES

I too am having problems with the cookies but only at home. The office computer that I am on now works everytime. I cannot post from home, I used to, but that was before all the changes... theirs not mine.

For those of you having cookie problems try erasing your cookies and then log back in to the site and see if it helps. Here are the instructions on how to clear them:

Close all browser windows.

Click the "Start" button.

Move upto "Find" and click "Files or Folders" from the menu that appears.

In the new window that appears, in the "containing text" field, type in the domain name of the board without the "http://" or "www." part. For example, if the board's address was "http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/index.php", I would type in "vbulletin.com" (without the quotes)

In the "look in" box, type in "C:\Windows\Cookies\" (without the quotes) and press "Find Now"

After it has finished searching, highlight all files (click a file, then press CRTL+A) and delete them (press the "delete" key or SHIFT+DEL)

The website addresses you want to search for are:

www.turbodieselregister.com

216. 235. 147. 117

128. 242. 249. 86

Once you've done then reboot your system and log back in to the server. You could have corrupted cookies on your systems that are causing the problem.
