After a month of colder than normal weather in Virginia Beach VA (35-45 degs) it was taking a couple turns of the key to get started in the morning. The starter would engage and the motor would turn over once then the starter would disengage and the motor would buck a little. The motor seemed to be turning over a little slow and the amp needle was sitting just below the first white line prior to attempting the start. After a second turn of the key the truck would start. After driving the truck for a few miles I didn’t have any starting issues for the rest of the day; only in the morning. My batteries were only 2 ½ years old but I decided to replace them with Everstart maxx-65n 1000 start amps vic the 750 Mopars that it came with. I got the batteries from Wal-Mart for $68 each and with a three year free replacement guarantee. I went out to start the truck this morning, it was about 40dgs out, turned the key and waited for the pre-heater light to go out and bang the truck fired right up. I also noticed that the amp needle was between the first white line and the 12 amp mark prior to starting, much better. (Easy fix thanks to a thread I read on TDR)
