With all the niche broadcast/cable/sat programs out now I got to wondering if TDR TV would be something that could succeed. The subscriber base to TDR is fairly large, and probably exceeds the viewership of Oxygen and many of the other channels combined. Even if it was a 30 minute program it could incorporate a tips segment, roundtable--maybe with a Cummins rep and a DC rep (someone has to be on the hotseat) along with the TDR website owners and viewer questions/comments, TSB bulletins, etc. A lot of it could be culled from what goes on here. The possibilities seem endless with the 3 generations of truck still on the road and earning a living. The closing minute could show photos of bombs and accessories owners have added to their trucks. I don't see how getting sponsors would be a problem, considering all the vendors who are listed here (and that doesn't include DC and Cummins, auto parts franchises, truck accessory shops, etc).

Am I nuts, or could this work?

Garry has a HUGE reason why there needs to be none of this on TV. We all would be shut-down quicker then the blink of an eye.

However, the idea would work VERY well, if we also got the viewing audience of the other brands and included them. Devote your time up like this...

45 second canned open/talant intro

1 minute to a truck of the week of EACH brand(3 minutes total),

5 minutes to an event of the week,

12 minutes to a "How to",

2. 5 minutes to "Hot products"

6 minutes to commericals and there you go it.

45 second outro/credits

Matt, want to start a production company? :D

You could be a little nuts:D It could probably work. But would you really want to put Doc or Whitmore on TV:eek:  thats just two that come to my mind so quick I guess cause they are the veteran:eek:  :--)

And I almost forgot about that other one BreaksEverything(a coyote is in the chicken pen) the one that has been throwing gas on the flame lately:--)looks like he might make the idiot list yet:D

Do you really think they don't know already? I wouldn't be surprised if there are EPA employees who drive a BOMBed truck, or even subscribe to TDR. I think I'd be more worried about the Department of Homeland Security or the ATF getting word of rednecks BOMBing trucks. ;)

Either way, I'd welcome any TDR programming on TV. I could tape it while traveling and then watch it anytime I wanted to. If Click and Clack can build a career of making fun of car owners and passing along advice of dubious seriousness surely TDR would do well passing along serious information to people with a specific interest.
