I ordered a set of Alcoa Alum. wheels for my truck on 10-13 from TEA. They told me that it take 3 days to get them. On the I called them on 10-18 to let them know that I haven't received them and was told that they didn't have two of the wheels and had to go get them, but they have them and they're being polished and will be sent Wed. On Friday I called again and was told that they were shipped Thursday. I called again today and was told that they were shipped. I asked them what was the UPS tracking number so I could contact UPS and they said that they didn't have one. I called UPS to see if I could track the package without a number and they said no, and also told me that if they shipped via UPS that they HAD to have a tracking number. I have since decided to get some wheels from a local dealer and cancel my credit card transaction with TEA.
Now I don't know what experiences other have had with TEA, but I can assure you that I can not recommended to anyone to order anything from them.

It seems this is the way buisness is run nowdays. I ordered some Smitty Built side steps (on MOnday) and the guy promised they would be in on Thursday. I as much as called him a liar as no way could he get them that soon. He said if not Thursday then Friday. Bs, bs, and more bs... .....
I got them on Monday which is about what I expected anyhow. I had words with the guy about human nature expecting things when promised and better to guestimate later than sooner. Honesty is the best policy, ya ya ya... .
I do a lot of mail order and some folks just BS you rather than lose a sale. The way I see it, the only thing we can do is speak up!
By the way the Smitty Built have chrome missing in one place on one side and I hope to get a new one... ... .....

Usually I like cheese with my whine... ... .
Life is good if this is all we got to worry about!

WOW, I on-line ordered from Geno's on Wed and the pkg here today! Now that's service even by USPS. 1st class mail for the order ---hmmmm.

Don't be so fast to bash retailers as liars! I run a small business myself on the side selling Audi parts, and it's not at all unusual to have problems with getting parts from suppliers. I dislike it when I have to tell a customer I'm going to be late shipping a part, because it hasn't come in, but that's life. Don't bash the retailer for it; they have nothing to gain by stalling you off!! As long as they're keeping you up-to-date with what is happening, and giving you straight answers, there's no reason to trash them.

Now if they're not keeping you up-to-date by giving you tracking numbers, or status updates, not returning phone calls, etc. , then I can understand the gripes.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I can't stand unsubstantiated whining. I'm sure there are other retailers that would agree. I suggest in the case with TEA, that you harp on them to get you a tracking number if they have truly shipped the wheels. If they can't or won't then that's definitely a legitimate gripe.

Just my 2 cents.

When a retailer tells me the item was in stock and is on a freight truck Tuesday and will be here on Wednesday... ... ... ...
And then on Thursday says he is waiting for a UPS truck and is called a liar due to the previous statement about a freight truck, backs up and says Oh yeah, maybe today.....
If not tomarrow... ... ...
Then it comes on Monday... ... ...
I will bash him!
I have a garage full of wood working tools mostly bought from mail order retailers. I have been through this many, many times.
The good ones tell you if it is in stock and when it will be shipped. Also if it is back ordered.
The jerks tell you it will be shipped tomorrow and then two weeks later you have to call and call and call only to find out they are having problems with their SUPPLIERS... ... .....
I say BS, BS, BS... ... ... ...

Now I know you wouldn't be guilty of such practices, but, yes I will be quick to call the guilty ones LIARS!
