I would like to share my experiences in both picking out a new company vehicle and then trying to get all the features set up...

Yes, I would like to hear! Is this a box van or a pick-up truck or another type of truck?

My older son was promoted in his firm to a superintendent and is to get a new 2020 or a 2021 Ford pick-up truck for work. With-in a year he will have over 50,000 miles on this truck driving to and from home with all of the job sites that we will have to visit!

About 6 weeks ago it was decided I was to get a company vehicle. My job has changed and I need to travel to the other stores frequently now.

I had been running a company 2017 Ford Escape AWD on and off and I was pretty darn sure I didn't want that thing long term...

After some discussion they really wanted me to get a comfortable vehicle and suggested that I avoid pick ups unless I wanted to constantly be hauling big parts. We have delivery trucks and stock units moving between the stores all week long which really should take of large items. After some thought I decided that made plenty of sense....I'm a bit slow but I do eventually get it.....

So once a decision is made they want it carried out.....like now..

I'm was right in the middle of trying to straighten out inventory at another location and it was a complete you-know-what show....

They give me an amount to spend and there I am, no clue what I want and no time to research what I don't know I want...

This should be fun...

I love the Chevy Impala, the real one, not the korean knock off.
Incredibly comfortable, a very nice ride. Has all in it that one needs today.
I had it twice as a rental.

We rented an Impala with the 3.6L V-6 8 or 10 years ago for a week. It got really good fuel mileage at around 30+ MPG. Very comfortable vehicle, however not inspiring to drive. If I was going to be on the road all the time I would want something that went zoom zoom. That said the new Tahoe's are a nice vehicles, but not in the 40K price arrange.

The CX-7 and CX-9 is nice vehicles, but there 4 cylinders has not come close to the EDGE ST's twin turbo V-6

Thats really nice they let you pick out your next ride.

Grand Cherokee Limited are nice work packages. Easy to find in White and do one of those cool wraps you guys do.

We have a smaller Cherokee and a Compass those are affordable but smaller for sure.. we also have a Traverse and a Terrain, except for the Traverse they are all a step down in size as you know from the GC, but really all my Techs enjoy their rides or so I think. I try to match them up a little to either skill level or position.

I would go GC for what you describe.

So given how busy I was the research was carried out in 5 minute intervals during the day and a half hour or so each night after getting back to the motel room...

When we make company trips I am usually the dedicated driver, Uber, group leader, mother hen, etc...
I used to be a long haul driver and can handle city driving..
On a trip to St.Louis last summer I picked a Suburban as my rental where we were a party of six. After deplaning, gathering people and luggage, finding the Hertz shuttle, and getting on the road I noticed an odd feedback from the steering wheel every now and then.
As many of you know there isn’t really time to familiarize ones self with the rental. Get it started, into gear and out of the rental lot..

So about two days in I start to figure that the odd sensation in the steering is the Lane Departure warning kicking in...I kinda liked that so I put that on the list.

Bought the wife a fairly basic 2016 Traverse last year and found it to be fairly blind when reversing out into traffic. The little Ford Escape has blind spot detection..
Like that as well, added to the list.

I also listed all things I love about my Hoopty’s such as the heated / cooled seats, memory seats, climate control, mirrors set to drop down when in reverse, and several other things..

Getting to be a long list..

On our Edge I set Lane Departure to notify vs correcting the steering. If does a rumble in the steering wheel like you drive off the side of a road that has those rumble cuts in the pavement. Adaptive cruise control is a nice feature, however our new Edge does not have it, drats(it was lacking a $795 option that would have provided that along with a couple other features).

That was the ninth generation, as boring as it can be.
The tenth generation is whole other animal.

What I especially like was ride quality, it has the magnaride shocks in it, firm and rock solid on good asphalt but soft like a flying carpet on a badly frost bitten road.
