Just a little rant

If anyone can help me with a little problem I have please help. :)

I need a wiring harness for the head light switch on a 82 4x4 1/2 ton Cheby. This truck is my beater and when we were wheelin this weekend I lost my head lights, drove the truck back home with a maglite:D The next day I took the panel off to get to the switch, because I thought it was bad and found that the wiring harness that goes to the switch is fryed and I mean cooked:( I was wanting to know if anyone knows were I can get a harness for the switch? The Cheby dealer is no help, they tell me that no one makes those kind of parts for those trucks any more. And none of the junk yards around hear even have any older trucks that haven't been stripped to the frame.

Please help if you can.

You might have to make your own. I've done it before using female crimp on spade terminals with shrink tubing over them to keep from shorting.

Harness Repair

If you can salvage the plastic connector housing from the old harness the spade terminals can be replaced with new ones. The dealer should have a kit of loose terminals but if not Standard Motor Poducts has them part number SST99, Bosch also has them for use with relay sockets, these are the type with the barb on the back to hold them in the housing.

Hope this helps

Maybe Ron Francis Wireworks? They make wiring harnesses for hot rods and just about anything with wheels. Get a Super Chevy magazine, or even HotRod magazine, look at the ads in the back. There's usually quite a few parts sources. Also check out Hemmings Motor News at the bookstore.

Run a search on Ron Francis WireWorks on the net.
