Hello all, I wanted to see if anyone has experienced real-world transmission temp reduction by just adding a deeper transmission pan? What transmission pan are you using? What fluid brand are you using? Thanks, Joel

I have the Hi Tech Mag Deep pan and didn't notice any change in the transmission temperature.

Soon as I get around to it I'll let ya know how I make out. Mag-Hytec Double Deep... . sitting here... . just haven't had time to do it. Actually just got home from a week in CO.

Did you ever decide which route your going?

Regular Mag pan.....

Added about 2 quarts. That and a new filter after the DTT upgrades seemed to drop it 5° at most.

Haven't pulled any hard loads to see the difference though. That's when it counts.

mag pans

the transmission tech at the local dealer, said a double deep pan would "drop the temp 10 degrees". i think he was basing this on experience. i had asked his advice about the pan. he recommended it. still in the future for me. :)

I've run stock, Mag-Hytec deep and now Mag-Hytec double deep. The DD has dropped it over stock by 10-15 degrees in town and highway and towing.

My DD transmission pan dropped my "easy on the throttle" around-town temp by about 20 degrees - but as soon as you hit the loud pedal, the temp is right back where it ran with the stock pan. Absolutely NO difference when towing... :(

If transmission temp is a problem, I'd suggest a GOOD auxilliary cooler over the DD pan... ;)
