Temp gauge for Manual Trans?

I have heard some of you have them, How do you do it?

I thought about taking a cheep water temp gauge, run the wire down to the trans, and drill and tap a hole below the fluid level in the PTO cover for the pickup?

Hey TowPro I just used a trans temp gauge, I then welded a 1/8 pipe weld bung on the pto cover. I have done several and it seems to work fine. I must say I have never seen any temps to be worried about and I pull a 15 k 5th wheel.

why? what are you going to do if the MANUAL trans temp exceeds the max? what is the max temp for manual trans?
