After I get the truck back on the road I want to add a temp guage to the trans.

Looking at getting an Autometer Z series and putting it in a column pod.

What temp range would work? 0-250 enough for the getrag?

What temp is to hot for the trans when towing?

I have also thought about getting a second sender and using a switch to go from trans to diff temp on the same guage.

I don't know anyone who's put a temp gauge on a manual trans. so I can't help with this one bud... ...

About the biggest tip for that trans is make sure to overfill the transmission by one (1) quart. This will prevent bearing(s) running dry when operated at steep angles...

pb... .

Never run a temp gage on a light duty trans before.

But on a KW I used to drive. It had a 13spd road ranger in it. On a hot day in Texas loaded heavy it would run around 275 on the trans and rear axles temp gages. Most other cooler areas of the U. S. it would run 225 or so.
