Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) temp switch on a 95 auto

I have a temp switch on the automatic that is leaking on my 95 and I wont to take out the switch and wire around it. Do I need a jumper or a left open. I don't know how to add a value to this piece of equipment. I think that computer may need a input from the thermistor.

I have never had high temps and not worried about them. Any help would be appreciated Jimk

If you pull the temp switch,you will not have any OD. You can bypass it with a resistor (700 Ohm ?),don't remember the number off by heart,but I can dig it up if you need it,it in some of my trans notes. If your going to the trouble to pull it out and bypass it,why not just replace it so it works right?

Chris is right, 700 ohm. Keep the temp switch functional, it's there for a good reason - to protect your transmission from damage. It protects against low temps as well as high.

thanks for the info. I knew that the overdrive would not work because of the loss of the signal.

As soon as I can do the swap I will probably install a 5 speed unless I change my mind about the four speed auto.
