2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Temperature Guage Problem

Truck is a 96 and my temp guage no longer works. It will not move at all. The truck runs great, nice warm out of the vents, but temp needle does not move. All other guages work normally. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try a new coolant temp sensor.

Before buying a sender (expensive) try grounding the wire. If the gauge goes up then its the sender. If the gauge still does not move then its probably a wiring or gauge problem. In case you don't know, the sender is on the left rear corner of the head looking from the back of the engine.
