How Many Years

I've only been a Tennessee resident for three years, and after driving in Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis, wondered if all USA lousy drivers headed for Tennessee when they got their drivers license. (It's worse than Montreal) Then I got talking to a neighbor, an educator, and she was bemoning the fact of a high number of teenage pregnancies in the school.

Did a little checking and found out that it was all P. E. T. A. s fault. You'all know about P. E. T. A, the animal rights nuts, They won't allow drivers ED and sex education to be taught on the same day.

Claim its to hard on the mule!

Denny:D :D :D :D :D

Lousy TN Drivers

LOL. A belated welcome to the Volunteer State Denny, from one who has lived here almost all but five years of his life. I can assure you, drivers here are as lousy as they come. As my wife says, those lousy drivers must have gotten got their licenses at Big Lots or on K-Marts Blue Light Special, but the illegals that were recently allowed to get a license didn't even go to the store.

BTW, you did good by explaining which PETA organziation you were criticizing. I belong to the good PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals). ;)

Amen to what you guys are saying about the people driving here in Tennessee. I beleive the females are worse than the males,or at least the males know which side of the road to be on when going around a curve. I have lived her all my life and it has got worse in the last few years.

Illegal aliens smiling at the DMV......

Swampy, I don't think I'll EVER understand the rational behind granting legal driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Someone PLEASE explain to me why the INS agents will raid a job site, and then detain and deport the illegal workers they manage to catch. The guys they're deporting were at the DMV getting their pictures taken for their Tennessee drivers licenses the day before. You folks in the rest of the country, I promise you, I'm not making this up !!! It's TRUE !!!! Why not arrest them when they show up for their free license ???

OPPS !!! Wait a minute. The license isn't free. They have to PAY the state of Tennessee for that piece of plastic. How much money does this put in the state coffers each year I wonder... . Well, I feel better now. I was starting to think the old "brain trust" at the capitol building had lost it. Now it all makes perfect $en$e. Just take a guess at how good these illegals are at actually operating a motor vehicle. :(

Going to Gnashville

I am planning on driving up to Nashville around July 31 for a small vacation. Do I need to change my plans?

I hate to pop your bubbles, boys.

Go grab your Webster's Lexicon Dictionary and look up "idiot driver". You will see a satellite picture of the state of Idaho.

Example (I'm not making this up):

Approach a stop sign on your side of the road and stop at the painted stop bar (correct position, right?) Look to your right and observe an oncoming car with his left signal blinking (LOL, they don't use any signals in Idaho). Watch the turning car come within 1/4 inch of your left-front fender (or watch it take the entire front end of your vehicle.

That, my friends, is a standard Idaho left-turn.

One more, for grins. Snow falling from the sky means... ... . "Do not travel at 45mph". Snow means speed up to 65mph and crash or slow down to 25mph and annoy the rest of the world!!

:D:D

Sounds like you guys are describing Detroit. Can't say that all of Michigan is that way, since most of Michigan's bad drivers moved to Florida :)

Doc

NJ has the WORST drivers anywhere, at least that is what i have seen and read in NE newsapapers. EXCEPT of course, Turbo Diesel Ram owners.

Bad Drivers

Oh come on guys. You all know that all the bad drivers come to Florida and retire. My vote goes to NJ, as EMDDIESEL said, for rude drivers, and half of them have moved to the Sunshine State. NJ is the only place in 45 states I've travel in or through where I 've been run off the road just so someone could be in front.

my . 02 cents

Pogodually - - Come to TN. You think FL is bad, not only do they pass you to be first, but then slow down to slower than you were doing when they pass. Next good trick is after they pass they slow and stop to turn left at the next road!!!!!!!!!!

Denny:rolleyes:

Sorry kids, Pogo is right on!! The slow-drawling southerners who drive so poorly in TN, GA, AL, the Carolinas, MS, etc... . all moved to FL 'cuz the livin' is waaay too fast up thaaaaar... then, mix in the super-rude NewEnglanders... . old, crotchety... . then mix in all the folks who float up on our beaches, you know the ones... . they wash dishes for 12 days and then go buy a $250 car to share the road with you! One last ingredient: hundreds of thousands of tourists that dont know where they're going and turn left from the far right lane..... mix them all together at the same time... welcome to Florida!

Now wait a minute. I wasn't talking about manners... ... ...

Idahoans are not rude drivers, they're just not good at it. Californians are good, assertive drivers. But, they're bad-mannered as heck. Spokane drivers are assertive, but they're crappy drivers.

Hmmmm. Come to think about it, stupid isn't so bad:D

Joe:)

radixr how bout AETP

In deferene to my wolfpack, I feel we need to start another Animal Rights organization. It should be called AETP=Animals Eating Tasty People. Works great as both a crime deterrent and an easy way to dispose of the evidence after the bad guys get wasted. Wonder how many CSI types would wander behind my kennel straining for human DNA. ;) On a hot August afternoon it can get a tad ripe back there>

Skydivers' Vacation

When you come up just be sure to put on your best Defensive Driving attitude and you oughta be semi-safe.

If I am not mistaken, there should be several things going on downtown the week you come up.

If you get lost or need help, shoot me a line! I am now listed in the Travel Companion. Hmm, only two of us for all of the Volunteer. Doesn't speak well for a state nicknamed "The Volunteer State". ;) Maybe we can correct that before too long.

Hey guys, I gotta tell ya, NJ drivers take the cake!

A few years ago a law suit came into my court, that if I hadn't heard the testimony, I would have had trouble believing it.

A group of truckers comming over the siskiyou mountains along the Calif. Oregon border. Word started passing from truck to truck to watch the woman driving a particular rig from NJ.

As this NJ lady trucker passed or was passed my male drivers she would lift her sweater to display some striking mamary glands. As she was passing one truck, its driver became so distracted he, he got closer and closer to the items in question, till his truck merged with hers and then they merged with a couple others ; in court there were fingers pointing in every direction. I was intertaining, but a few people got hurt. She sure gave NJ drivers a bad bit of attention.
