FASS fuel line replacement question

My 06 recently lost the tensioner pulley at 80,000. After replacing the pulley I get a wierd noise which seems to happen when the AC clutch kicks in. After looking closely, the tensioner arm moves when the clutch engages and out comes the noise (kind of a clicking not loud but annoying). Just wondering if I need to change the entire tensioner assembly. The belt is staying on, but it makes me nervous as nothing works without the serpentine belt.

The tensioner can make noise,if the pulley is worn I change the complete tensioner assy.Be aware that the 06 compressor may be worn/on the way out also. You can use a stethoscope to identify exactly what is making the noise.Be careful you don't want to loose any didgets in the process.

Even by 80K miles the tensioner will be noticeably weaker when compared to a new one. For that reason alone I always replace it as an assembly.

I have a 2003 5.9 and just today I picked up a noise under the hood, high pitch sort of. It kicks in above ideal BUT after it warms up goes away. Does this sound familiar with a tensioner failing.

You'll have to do some more checking around to be sure. It could also be the water pump going out or anything else that's spinning.
In fact the first thing I would do is remove the belt and run it a few seconds to see if the sound goes away

When the tensioner pulley bearing went out on my 2005, it was a high pitch squeak/chirp. When I took the tension off the belt and checked the pulley, there was a noticeable amount of play in the bearing. I replaced the assembly and have a spare pulley in the tool box in case I need it. I checked the water pump while the belt was off and it felt fine.
