Well it was quite the interesting little quiz I got 13 of 13 some of the stats are neat to see.

That's the question that I was sweating..... It's been a fair while since that subject was brought up to me (like 35 years)... ... .

That was an easy quiz. Prolly barely more'n a minute.

A little ponderance would make the answer fairly clear.
  • If CO2 was the greatest quantity, we'd have trouble breathing and man-made global warming wouldn't exist.
  • If O2 was the greatest, everything would burn almost instantly.
That sort-of leaves nitrogen, which fertilizes plants and generally acts as a natural fire inhibitor.

Had they included water vapor, I might've had to re-watch some of the meteorology Great Courses videos to find the answer. But at 63% (I think) nitrogen is the clear winner.

I got 12, I missed the one about temperature rise.

I believe the earths atmosphere is 78% nitrogen.

I got them - I think most people should. I think the nitrogen in the atmosphere is easy - the culprit that leads to the NOx one of the big evil siblings in our emissions battle.

I think what the poor results in the random sample show is that people stop learning (thinking)? Those questions are all at a high school level today - but many did not exist when I was in high school (fracking, global warming, etc. )

My wife and I took this test a couple weeks ago from a link on another forum I belong to. We both got 13 for 13 but she was a little faster than me, but she never smoked cigars, had an occasional whiskey or deprived her brain of oxygen on a regular basis. :-laf

You answered 13 of 13 questions correctly.

The thing that is funny is the only question I had to think about was the makeup of our atmosphere. It's only where I MAKE MY LIVING!:D

The stats at the end are what are amazing. This just shows where we are as a nation.

I suspect "we" tend to be on the older side of most demographics. As such we were educated when teachers could still whoop you if you acted up and you weren't moved to the next grade if you didn't pass the tests!

13 of13 here too, I have always been a science nut plus my trade deals with a lot of physics and chemistry. Those questions are pretty basic I would hope that everyone would score high.

How did your wives do? Mine keeps telling me she's not to smart but she got 11 out of 13. Not too bad for a history major.

Well, I got all 13... then today had my dear wife take it. She got 11 ot of 13. Nitrogen and electron were her weaknesses.
Hmmm ... Now to find the grandkids.
