Just wanted to say "Hello" and test my posting prowess. I've been lurking since sometime around 8-26 when I ordered my new Ram, I took delivery of my machine on 10-10 and finally got around to joining the TRD last week. This is my first attempt at posting. If this works, I'd hate to waste a post without asking a few questions, so here goes: Although I'm very impressed with the performance of my stocker (2500 ETH/DEE), the dyno numbers some of y'all are posting are making some conservative bombing mighty tempting. I've done 30+ years worth of wrenching/hotrodding on cars, motorcycles, and boats and the bang-for-the-buck factor for some of the injector/"blackbox" combos sound too good to be true at least by "gasser" standards. Anyway, sorry for being so longwinded, here's my question. I'm considering adding the Power Edge EZ along with some injectors, probably 275's. My concerns are as follows: Will my EGT's be OK with these mods when pulling ~10K? I plan to add guages, but occasionally my wife will be soloing in the Ram pulling similar loads. She's a great gal and I love her, but she is simply not of the correct mindset to be watching any guages. I know this because she continually forgets to wait on the start light and to let the turbo cool prior to shutting down etc. For these reasons, I'm very hesitant to do any mods that may get me into EGT trouble. Secondly, what's the consensus regarding the ETH clutch and the above mentioned mods, will it hold up? What about the compatibility of the cruise control with these mods, is anyone having any problems? Lastly, are there any tricks regarding the "void" stickers on the pump wiring? I haven't looked real closely, but the sticker/pump/connector appears to have ben shot with some sort of a clear topcoat, has anyone figured a way around this? Thanks in advance for any help and please let me know if the mods I've described are a reasonable 1st step, I don't want to do anything that will compromise the drivability of the truck.

<font color=blue>Just wanted to answer part of your question, if you do decide to go with the EZ, it does not plug into the fuel pump connector you are refering to. It plugs into a different location so you won't tamper with any void stickers.

I'll let someone else field the rest of your questions, hopefully someone with an ETH will post that has those mods.

Thanks Kat, sorry for the stupid,"newbie" question. I'm sure the installation procedures for the EZ as well as the answers to my remaining questions are probably buried somewhere in the boards/archives. I'll do my homework before posting again! My problem is that I'm not online at home & I don't have time here at work to keep up with all the good suff being discussed. I know bombing is a disease, is there anyone out there who has "just" the EZ with injectors? If so I'd really be interested in your interpretation of the effects on drivability. Extra power is always a good thing, but is there a downside?

Redram1,

I have the EZ with DD3's and the PE. Here's my suggestion. Get the SPA gauge, they have a light that will flash at what ever setting you choose so the wife doesn’t have to constantly watch and or worry about EGT's. IF the light flashes, let off the throttle #ad
. Next I would install the 275's and the PE not the EZ. The reason being, you can turn the PE off from inside the cab and just run the 275's which would be pretty mild in the way of HP and wont upset the wife #ad
. The other great thing about the PE is that is has 3 settings, mild, medium, and HOT, which you can also change while your driving #ad
. I choose this combo because like you, I pull a trailer (15,000 lb 5er. ) The injectors give you HP with lower EGT's and that's why I chose the DD3's. When I pull I turn the PE off and just run the injectors.

Your clutch should be fine with the 275’s but when you put the PE on HOT #3, look out #ad
, you’ll get slippage in the higher gears. Hope this helps, good luck.
