Anyone in the Buffalo Area?

I was just thinking we needed some sort of get-together in the cny area. I'm definatly game for dinner or coffee night. A dyno day sounds pretty cool too! I live an hour away from Syracuse and 15 min. from Utica.

I'm up for anything if I can get the time off from work, it's been really crazy lately, 24 days in a row of 12 to 16 hours a day, my one day off last week I installed a new Jacobs e-brake that some of that OT paid for. They goodies should be flying be this summer.

OK, I ran into a guy that runs East Coast Resorts, a campground near Syracuse. I talked to him about a weekend campout. They have a large area that is away form the main part of the campground where we wouldn't bother anybody, and also have small cabins for those of you that don't have campers. We could have a nice time there, and if we were spending a little time wrenching and making noise we wouldn't be bothering fellow campers. OR we could camp at Delta Lake State Park near Rome, NY. Nice big campground. Awesome water skiing and fishing lake (I've got a big tube for those of you that don't ski... good clean fun). There are no cabins there that I know of, but I've slept in my truck or in a tent when camping anyway.

So, the short story.

East Coast has better facilities for p[eople needing a place to sleep, and for making noise.

Delta lake has better facilities of you're interested in watersports as well as trucks. Either was is OK with me. Should I start a poll thread to vote on this?

Seeing as how there are guys willing to come to a dinner from both Syracuse and Albany, maybe the Utica area is best for coffee/dinner. Any of you folks down that way know a good place?

Joe

I'm about an hour and a half south of Utica (according to Mapquest... ), living in Oneonta, and going to school in Cobleskill... yeah, SUNY Cobleskill... anyway, I'd be game to come up some evening for dinner/coffee, as long as it's before mid-May when school gets out, then I'll be back in Vermont for the summer. Of course, the truck is at home right now, in a number of pieces, and prob. won't be back in running condition until late summer... . so y'all will get to meet the Saab instead ;)

OK, I've given it a little time after asking for opinions on where/when and it looks like everyone thinks like me. "Pick a date, pick a location, and shut-up already!" I can take a hint :-laf

I camped at Delta lake state park last year and enjoyed it, even though my stay was cut short by an ER trip. I'd like to go back this year and hopefully not blow another eardrum while learning to wake-board (not the best thing to take up at 40 years old).

So, How about Delta Lake State Park in Rome NY. A weekend camping event. For those of you without campers, you can sleep in a tent, or in your truck... whatever. There are a couple of Hotels that are pretty close if you need creature comforts. You are also welcome to come for the day, and not stay overnight.

I intend to bring my ski boat, so bring a suit if you're into tubing or skiing, or if you wouldn't mind trying.

The fishing looks pretty good, butI've never tossed a line in there.

The Date: June 18th, 19th 2005

Let's get a head count. We'll probably need to reserve camp space if we want to camp together... that's the idea, right?

Joe

is this wives, girlfriends, kids, or boys weekend out? my wife and girlfriend don't know about each other (HAHA). pretty sure that weekend is open for me,will know for sure in a week or so. you're right, stuff heals slower over 40. keep me posted. pete

I think you should bring anyone you like. . wife, girlfriend, both...

I invited my family, but they rejected the idea stating "you'll just be talking about your trucks all weekend long".

Of course!, I'll leave politics, government, religion and related intellectual discussions to the smart, boring folks. (I used to add "while I sleep with their girlfriends" to the end of that. Then I got married. ) ;)

Joe

Bummer, I'll be working nights that weekend! Something to keep in mind also is that the Mass/Conn guys were thinking about having their fall get together up in Lake George.
