Anything going on? I'll be home for 2 weeks on leave from Iraq and will have a new 1st-gen to show off. I'll be all over central TX and down in Corpus for a few days fishing.

Will do. I'll be all over the place. I'll put some more pics up in the gallery as soon as I get some of my own. The only ones I have right now are the ones from the ad and a few interior pics I had him send me. I'll have my ex come out to the beach and take some video of me messing around too. #ad

Corpus Fishin'

I live in Corpus and would be glad to reveal a few fishin spots to a fellow CTD owner. Especially one serving our country in uniformed services! You guys are the reason I go to work every day! I am a CCAD employee.

Andy that would be awesome. I was going to hit PINS and do some surf fishing and camp out there on the beach like I used to but if you got some good spots to hit that would be great.



I found the truck in the dieseltruckresource.com classifieds. I wasn't actually planning on buying one til I got back but I thought this was a deal I couldn't pass up. Only thing I would change is the automatic. I was really looking for a NV but it's hard to find one in my price range. I am going out to California to pick it up as soon as I get home next month and then taking it to the self-service shop on post to go through and check all the nuts and bolts, change the filters and fluids, throw a toolbox with a rodrack and a CB in there. Thinking of going to a 6" stack but that will wait til I am back for good. Only thing wrong with it right now is the brake booster or the vacuum line (he is going to check on that before I go pick it up) and the speedo doesn't work anymore. All the current mods to it are in my sig. This will be my first 1st-gen. I have been waiting about 3 years to get a nice one so I am very happy.

Favorite spots

My favorite spots include any deep hole with lots of birds nearby. I too fish PINS. Was there yesterday and came closest to stuck as I have ever been. The sand was dry and deep past 10 miles. Watched all four tires turning as truck inched forward in 4 Low 1st gear. I was able to do more good with a shovel outside than I could do with a hysterical girlfriend on the inside(OMG we're stuck, my hairs gonna get messed up... ..... :-{}) truck never stopped moving just got really slow!! Last time she goes down the beach with me. Water has been murky lately but you can clearly see the green and the blue water offshore. Couple weeks ago smacks and kings in surf. Still no bluefish. I am hoping to get a charter booked so I can go after wahoo and ling.

Ha I hear ya with the girlfriend thing. Last time I went down beach with my ex fiancee I was really proud because it was drizzling and she still wanted to go. It got better though and we had a good time. I was really proud the next morning when my battery was dead and she actually helped me push-start my car (my truck at the time was out of commission). Good thing I parked 2 feet from the beach road. Last time I bring a car out there. I actually haven't been surf fishing since I was little. I used to fish the flats and under the causeway when I was down there every weekend but never fished off the beach. Any tips you can give me would be nice.
