Does anyone have any experience on which kit is better for heavy towing with a factory style 47RE? I am looking at installing one of these kits. I will be pulling the valve body, but not rebuilding the transmission. I currently have 100k on a factory rebuilt trans. I am wanting a bump in TC lockup pressure, and firmer shifts. My usual trailer is roughly 8500 pounds. My truck is my daily, and pretty well stock. I plan on discussing the situation with Transgo this next week to see what they recommend, but thought I would ask y'all's opinion.

I'm using the TFOD for 7 years now - but I would use the TFRE today.
It's new and wasn't available back then.
transmission has 200K Miles on it.

Ozy, what fluid do you use?

ATF+4, formerly MOPAR, now Valvoline.
Change around every 30K Miles.

Thanks Ozymandias. Do you tow with it? Or mostly empty? How much did you tweak your trans?

No Trailer but 12000lbs Camper all the Time and a Smarty JR.
I have a BD T-Converter, and some small parts changed that have been possible without disassembling the transmission itself.

Thank you. I know there are many posts talking about putting a shift kit in. But this is the kind of info I am looking for.
