VA Boxes where do you buy them?

First..... I hope that this thread is within site guidelines. I do not wish to start a war, just want to communicate my experience as a buyer out looking. Please..... no flaming!!

I want to thank Carl over at ATS for spending the time to answer all my questions. The time has finally come for me to put my stock transmission out of its misery! He provided me with solid answers and even gave me some assistance in trouble-shooting a problem I'm currently experiencing. I have been a member for many years since I bought my '99 and have read all the transmission threads:rolleyes: Some good, some bad. The one solid piece of advice I came away with was to call all the vendors, get educated and make an informed decision. My first call was to company "X" whom I have heard will go out of their way to help you... ... great customer service..... call them and you will get answers... ... they will walk on water for you..... NOT! Jr. was vague in all his answers and kept saying that I need to speak with my nearest installer. Hello... ... I'm calling the mother company with questions on how to spend 4k+ on their products. It was like trying to get blood from a stone. He wouldn't offer any help or suggestions on my current problem to help me along until I could get to an installer... which is at least 5-6 hrs away. What the hell was this all about?

With that said, I want to again thank ATS for a very informative and pleasant conversation. I know where my $$$ is going. :)

I too had a good experience with ATS. At $90-plus per hour for labor, they aren't the cheapest place in town. But if bucks aren't a problem, they are the go-to guys and they know their stuff.

But the market controls in this business too. Prices will rise until trucks stop lining up outside. It's called Economics 101.

Good post Challenger! 2 years ago I needed a trans rebuild, and I called 'em all too!--I found the same thing you did:-laf

I got my ATS Stage IV and it is the best thing I ever did to my truck. Clint has gone out of his way to tell me the truth, even when it was not in his best interest to do so. Now that is a good measure of the Man's character.

I've got 40,000 miles on my Stage IV, and it has never let me down.

Your experience of calling around to decide on a transmission vendor was somewhat similar to mine. I couldn't handle the arrogance and poor mouthing of the other guy's product from the mother company. I had to go with ATS because they took the time to answer all my questions. Clint and the staff at ATS are just good people. I know from experience that when you get that transmission and TC installed it will put a :D on your face.

I too ran into the same broblems, I gave clint a call and he was great, explained everything to me, he put me in touch with Larry and Bellflower Transmissions and I went ahead with the stage 5 transmission, best thing I ever did. the service was top notch. I went to where they treated me best.

Looks like we have a pattern here, I had a hard time believing the more popular vendor would not return my calls or emails when I am trying to part with 4-5K. Anyhow I talked to them all and 2 weeks ago I had ATS stage IV installed by TST Products in Indiana. I am very happy with the product and the service I received at TST. If I can keep out of getting a speeding ticket I will be even happier;)

Absolutely Love my ATS transmission, best mod on my truck for sure. Glad to hear others talk about their experience with Clint and ATS, my experiences have been great there and sure they will remain that way.

I introduced Larry at Bellflower trans. to Clint and ATS and all I can say is ATS is top rate even with my high abuse of my trans. Larry and Bob at Bellflower have since become very good friends. I also called the trans shop up north and got the same obnoxious attitude that it is his way or no way. Then on top of that the bad mouthing of their competitors was the straw that broke the camels back.

THANKS CLINT AND ATS, also Larry and Bob at Bellflower are top rated in my book.

1dslram, I talked to Larry at Bellflower awhile back and he told me the story of this guy (you) who came in with a big Dodge Dually, and wanted an ATS TripleLok installed. He told me he asked you what you paid for the TC, and after you left he and Bob laughed their butts off that someone would pay that much for a TC.

Then, after they installed it, THEY DROVE YOUR TRUCK!:--) :--)

He told me they couldn't believe just a TC could make that much difference!

They are good guys at Bellflower aren't they!

Like you and all the other members who have posted here,

I am very happy with both of my ATS TripleLok Stage IV

Transmissions in my 1996 Dodge 12 valve CTD and my

newer 2002 Dodge CTD 24 valve! I also can relate to my

experience with "Company X" and how I was treated on

the phone by them when I was asking questions trying

to decide which "aftermarket" transmission to go with.

All I can say is that "Company X" lost my business

because of the way they treated me! I have since

driven several trucks with the "X" transmission and

can tell you I am glad I don't have one!!!

Clint and Ranee and the ENTIRE STAFF at ATS are GREAT

people to deal with and provide excellent customer

service and support!! My 96' ATS transmission has over

70,000 miles on it with no problems and the 2002 now

has a little over 30,000 miles on it with no problems

either!! I run the trucks hard, but take good care of

them! The "Company X" "early "scare tactics" saying

"locked to locked" shifting wouldn't work just doesn't

hold up anymore!!! It DOES WORK and it works very,

very well!! There are literally thousands of ATS units

on the road in Dodges, Ford and Chevy Diesels some

with very high horespower and they are holding up

very well, including mine!! ATS has also built the unit

that is in the Banks Sidewinder (LSR) Truck as well as

the Scott Bentz Diesel Rail Dragster which ran the

quarter mile in 9. 3 @ 139 MPH!!!

Like all of you, my sincere thanks to Clint, Ranee

and the ENTIRE ATS Staff for a great TC and transmission

as well as exceptional customer service and support!!

My thanks also to Brian Koester @ Scheid Diesel

(ATS Dealer and Installer) who does an excellent

job for both my son and I.

John is right on. I have over 20,000 HARD miles on mine, with over 500 horse. Considering the drag racing, 4 wheel drive launches with 35's, and extremely heavy loads hauled I cant say enough good things about this transmission. Keep up the good work ATS. -Dave

The burnouts rock!! I gave a guy I work with a ride in my truck yesterday. VP is crapping out but what the heck, turn the FMS on anyway! He was giving me a hard time about the Dodge autos (he has a Durango) saying "if" I really had that much power it would "never" hold. I did about a 1 1/2 minute 4x4 burnout for him. Let's just say he was smiling, so was I :D :D :D
