Just read in the newspaper where my local utility district is purchasing 25 new diesel generators due to the way below normal snowpack in the NW that will limit hydropower. The reason for the purchase is to fulfill power contracts to CA,we will still have more than enough hydro-power for the local area. Our power rates will not rise,we will just charge more for the exported power and the profits will pay for the generators in one year. Thanks for the free generators CA,why didn't you just go out and buy some yourself?

Illflem, you just don't get it, do you. Kalifornia is there for all of us to sacrifice our freedom from stupidity, in order to enhance the total loss of people's control of their own destiny in Kalifornia.
Kalifornian's think that the 10 billion dollar!!!!! state bond issue will solve their problem. Trouble is, Kalifornia cannot issue the bond because it exceeds their state's ability to guarantee the bond's value. All they had to do was build several power plants twenty five years ago to keep up with the population growth. But then, that would be logical, and there has been no logical approach to government since Ronald Reagan was governor.
Let's give them all the help they need, just so they pay for it!

A small comunity outside LA the other day voted down a natural gas power plant. Claiming it was going to be put there because of the high hispanic population!

This was already a high industrial district. There were also more than 100 jobs offered to the comunity by this plant!Let em sit in the dark!

sad to say that we ( I mean califorians ) need to take a hit on the power issue- let those tree huggers ( which most are former yuppies and hippies - now called granola heads to be PC) lose there jobs, $1,000,000 homes, volvos, their self respect, and become homeless because when they had the oppertunity to step up to do the right thing they said "not in my back yard"

Here we go again, bunch of heyseeds whining and fussing. Just try to remember that CA has the 7th largest economy in the WORLD, and, like it or not we are part of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, (key word: UNITED). So all you friendly neighbors should do your best to see to it that CA is kept financially healthy regardless of our misguided state government.

Yes we have some real winners here but they are paying me well and I anticipate that you will welcome my family with open arms when I retire.
