Thank you to all the vets (and non-vets who served in the military) for enabling/ensuring my and my families freedom. It is greatly appreciated. You all sacrificed a great deal for us and I will never be able to repay you. I'll be smoking a cigar in my Grandfather's and your honor tonight. I also went out and shot the German luger that Grandpa brought back from the war and that I inherited - it is a semi-annual ritual for me (his birthday and vet's day). This is always an emotional day for me.

Very well said Steve! Although I spent 4 wonderful years in the Army, never seeing battle or conflicts, I would also like to thank you guys that fought for the rest of us... I cannot express in words how grateful I feel and the sorrow for the wounded, missing and dead... Thanks!

Just read this post for the first time and I'd like to say "Thank You" as well.

I'm 52 and was in Air Force ROTC at Oregon State during the Vietnam War, dropped out of the program when I failed the color blindness test for flight school, then got lucky with #247 in the lottery so I didn't serve.

I have the utmost respect for those of you who did serve however, and all those who have fought and died for the freedom we enjoy.

The fighting men and women of America - and I include in that number the millions at home who supported our overseas forces - have indeed saved the world.

Again Thank You -

Rob
