Went to have the turbo cleaned due to a CEL. Dealer ended up replacing the turbo, the intercooler, the EGR everything, and the catalytic convertor. I hadn't noticed any performance issues prior or any improvements since then (only driven 20 miles this weekend). Has anyone else had such major surgery due to a dirty turbo?

Hmmmm sounds to me like since you had the extended warranty they saw $$$$$$ signs.

Could be. But the repairs out of CHryslers pocket far exceeded the cost of the warranty!
ANyone else have such major surgery?

I had a similar situation. Everything replaced from the headers back... Turbo, DPF, Cat, Muffler, EGR, Turbo,... Everything. Big difference was that my turbo was completely caked, would not move at all.

What kind of work do you do with your truck? Mine was used so I dont' know if the previous driver towed much with it.

I can imagine how clogged up all your parts got. When I pulled off the intake horn this weekend I was surprised at how much soot was in there and in the grid heater.

Just doesn't make sense re-burning your exhaust.

I am one of those people that have been bad mouthed on TDR. I use my truck as a daily driver. No big trailer or heavy work situation. My commute has been 30 miles of highway to and from work. My situation happened after taking my truck to LA for vacation. Stop and go traffic almost killed my truck!!! After $15,000 is parts (I saw the invoice to Dodge, so I know this was accurate), and my truck has been great ever since!
