Competition de-fueling blues.....

Off Roading Defiant Light Bar.

Hey Guys-

Just wanted to give a big shout out to everyone who has ever helped me here on the TDR (especially Scott Vorhee's and Jim Fulmer) and also those who have followed my posts.

All the HARD work paid off today with my first ever pull on the GMC/Cummins conversion truck with a Full Pull at 329ft.

Power felt great from the start although I bounced a slight bit at the 25 foot mark and slightly came off full throttle for a second (probably still at least at 90% though and mashed it back down as soon as I felt it my foot lift) and then she hooked up great and out the door I went.

Flag man started stopping me just after 300 and with it being the first time with pulling the truck I took it easy and slowed down because I knew I was still moving pretty good at the time.

Anyway, here is the vid YouTube - Ryan Bambach's First Pull... Out the Door 329 Feet!!! If you look at my other vid of the pull which is longer my brother pulls just after me with his best ever feeling pull (not the furthest but best feeling pull ever) Over all a great day!!!

Thanks again to all... RyanB

Very nice Ryan!!!

What do you have for a rear suspension?? it seemed like it didnt squat a bit

Michael

Our class is Identical to Super Street last year in the DHRA (we still have to have 1-ton or smaller drivetrain) for now but can have a totally welded solid rear end. Mine is still supported by the leaf pack and have 2"x4" tubing bolted to the frame comming down to the axle. Doesn't seem to move at all and supprisingly there wasn't any flex that I can see in the vids.

Nice. You should gather up all your posts, pics, and submit them to Diesel World mag.

I talked to one of the guys from Diesel World that was at IRP that was at the hottel on Friday night and he didn't seem all to interested in the truck. Said it looked sharp but because it is painted black it is almost to hard to put into the magazine as a feature artical. At that time though it was 11pm, dark and was hard to talk to him because of the noise. Really think there is some potential?

Hitch height... it was actually a little low... had it set at 25 3/4". I will post some pics of my hitch as its a little different than most and almost tricks your eye into thinking its higher than it really is from the side.

There is always potential. I tell magazine editors EVERYTIME I see them at shows, that lift kitted show winners are nice, but there is a LOT of us out here that want to see how the common man is doing it!(No offense Ryan)

I think you have your build pretty well documented, they would only need to do a clean up edit.

There is several other Diesel mags, submit it to all of them. What do you have to lose, besides a little time and postage?:)

Sure would be awesome to see your truck that you have countless hours wrenching in a magazine like that. I'd give it a shot! That truck should be in a mag. I would want to read the article for sure.

Thanks for the advice. Just not sure what you mean about this one part... but there is a LOT of us out here that want to see how the common man is doing it!(No offense Ryan)???

Mine is actually a total one off and I think I am deffinatly that "common man" having my own idea's and learned to fab all this stuff up on my own.

So your saying to just collect all my posts and stuff from all the sites and email them or snail mail??? Send me a PM if you have anymore hints that would be helpfull.
