Thanks for the ideas. I'll try to check everything out this weekend, especially the steering shaft ... I don't think I would have ever thought of that one.

Actually, jodog, I was given this advice here on this page a few months ago after I had been stumped by the same thing as FATCAT... sorry, but I dont own a manual; I rely on all you wonderful members to help... . and you do!
