That Noise.

I've heard you guys talk of this "sh-sh-sh-sh-sh" noise. Well I just took the muffler off mine yesterday and now Ive noticed this noise. Anybody know what it is?

See if its coming from your fuel return line. You will be able to hear it near the fuel tank.

I know that noise!

I think the noise you are talking about is from the turbo. It happens when you have over 10 # of boost and let off the go pedal too fast. The pressure in the intake escapes back through the turbo. I dont think it hurts anything. Mine does it when i am turning arround in the snow up in the hills.

You sure it wasn't the next door neighbor? If you hear the words midasize it with the sh- sh-sh- sh then you will know. kidding of course.

Yeah the nieghbors probably are shushing me but I can't hear them over the exhaust Actually it is making this noise at low rpm when Im accelerating like the more I lug the engine the more prominent it is.
