Was just watching some qualifying and practice by the Sprint Cup cars for the race at Indy tomorrow, they are wearing out the right side tires in four laps. Hey, the ones I had on my travel trailer lasted a little longer than that. Well I guess you gotta cut them some slack, they have so much competition in making the tires for those races and they only get about $1500. 00 for a set. bg

The COT is an ill-handling pig that requires super soft skins on the right side so it'll actually turn and not drive straight through the corner into the fence... at the speeds they're running...

NASCAR is trying to slow the the cars down, whether they admit to it or not.

Goodyear gets big $$$$$ being the "official tire" and NASCAR won't get the black eye if the suppliers take the heat.

(off soapbox)

The COT is not an ill-handling car, it just handles more like a Cup car than a Corvette. The tires at the Brickyard were too HARD, not too soft... they grated off because they never reached their proper heat range.

NASCAR has publicly stated that they're trying to slow the cars down... it creates better racing, and they've been holding the reins on the cars for over 5 decades.

And Goodyear (garbage) PAYS big $$$$ to be the official tire!

on edit: the tires are HAND BUILT in Akron, no big computerized assembly line for the race tires
