Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) The 53 years

I was under the impression that the 53 block spanned from 99-01 until I saw this with a 12 valve.

Apparently it is at least back to 98 now. Any comments?. I have not heard of any block failures from the 12 valve guy's.

Dave, the wife has a 98 12v with the 53 block. Knock on wood, so far so good at 135,000 miles.

53 here also, ~122k and no problems



I thought Jim Fulmer's truck has a 53 also, but I could be mistaken.

are they late production 98 trucks? I love Dodge's schedule, I bought my NEW 2001 HO in April of 2000!
