After reading up here about the 6. 7 I decided to go look at one. . off to Crown Dog. . opps dodge in Redding California

Hello Mr Salesman please show me one... speak to the commercial guy he replies...

No sales literature...

Then I get told by the commercial guy "um... the 6. 7 isnt available in California because it CANT pass emissions"

I reply. . thats funny they built it specifically to be a low emission diesel...

No commercial chassis have hit their lots... theyve never even seen a 6. 7

What say the board... are they blowng oil smoke about the 6. 7 availability here in California?

There are 2 Cab and Chassis with the CTD 6. 7 both manual transm. in Dependable Dodge- Canoga Park, and Thousand Oaks too.

There is a reason they are called Clown Motors. The majority of salesmen there don't know squat, and the rest know even less.

426 Hemi was introduced in 1964 as a racing engine. Street version had lower compression and some other "detuning" items. Production ran for 8 years and advertised hp and torque were 425hp at 5000 and 490ft/lbs at 4000.

It's amazing what you can learn from the back of a revell model kit!

Did a locate and the only chassis cabs close to you are Medford and Sacramento. By the way, they (Crown) have one unit that is shipped but not there yet.

Aren't you close to Carson Dodge in Reno area? That is were I would go if I were you. I order mine on wed from Frahm Dodge, I waited for the higher HP version, by the way that is Norco CA.

Try this: Dancing with the Dealers. I called Ken Ray, he is the man. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173540

yes,, Im pretty close to carson. . and dave smith is only a couple of states over. . as is the discount guy in Wash...

Im pretty sure Ill go with dave. . but i want to look at one in person and tire kick. . Ive already got my list of options. . but I want to see a commercial book and talk to the body builder. . (Im going to put a service body on. . and I might do a ship thru deal if I dont want to hassle taking it to Oregon to Highway Products. . whom I think make the nicest aluminum bodies in the US)

http://www.800toolbox.com/directory/directory.htm

truck options like this...

2007 C&C 6. 7 aisin auto. quad cab, base package a (NO CHROME DOO)

a/c,srw,trailer tow, idle control, anti spin diff, exhaust brake,220 amp alt, block heater, hood protector, rear slider, speed control, skid plate, full size spare, bright white/slate, A package base trim, argent bumpers and wheels, black grill, vinyl floormats and seat.

Now. . I havent seen a commercial book yet and there may be one or two options Im missing. . pretty much what a utility would spec but with a few more underneath options... those remain to be seen

Personally, I'd check out Carson Dodge before the other two. The also handle CA DMV and taxes, unlike the others.

I got my truck through Dave Smith. All DMV paperwork was supplied to me and it went slick. My buddy on the Big Island anxiously awaits the arrival of his dually Q. C. ,another smooth DSM purchase. They assisted both of us with shipping to our respective locations. It's funny,DSM beats Hawaiian prices even with the extra shipping. The sales, finance and accessory dept. were very helpful and reasonable. Multiple phone follow-ups cemented my recommending them to others. I wish they'd open a store down here. My neighbor went through Dishman and they too supplied all documentation for Ca DMV registration.

I second the checking at Carson Dodge first. Though I haven't used Dave Smith or others, I have purchased three trucks from Carson Dodge, all from Chuck Gillies. The experiences have been very good. Plus, you might just run into John Holmes and learn a whole lot about your truck!
