The Air just got let out of my May Madness

For the past couple years I have been wanting to go and this year looked pretty good so I made reservations and mailed in the registration, then just tonight I realized it is on Mothers day weekend!! What is up with that? major disappointment. Someone please tell me its not that weekend every year.

yep, it is on the first weekend in may. For at least the last 5 years that is... .

Unbelievable. . I am not so fortunate to still have my mom but on my wifes side there are 3 generations still with us and each year family from all over get together. My wife didn't even realize it was that weekend and even encouraged me to keep the reservations but I won't be the one to break up the fun on that weekend.



For me MM is out permanently till they change it, if ever. I Wonder how many others have conflicts on that weekend? I would have better luck making it on Christmas.



As a perspective buyer I was offered a test drive in Piers twined truck, that woulda been cool.

As I e-mailed you, we hold it early in May befor it gets hot in Vegas. What better Mother's Day gift is there than a vacation in Vegas

The show ends Saturday. You can leave any time to get back home. We might try to end on Friday night next year, starting earlier. Maybe Monday through Friday. When John tried that, however, he got complaints from those who wanted it on a weekend. Also, Saturday is better for some vendors to attend and have that day as their major day. John had to contend with Memorial Day weekend issues (gets warmer later in Northern NV so he had the show near the end of May). There seems to be no way to please everyone.

I wish it were that simple, Vegas is a 9hr drive each way for us. We planned to take Friday off from work as a drive day, then Saturday as a fun day and then Sunday to drive home. I was mostly interested in the vendors and trucks displayed.

I realize that and didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. I suppose moving it up or down one week would make others unhappy too.

I am just bummed MM is out for me. Bringing all the Moms (one is 94) would not be possible and getting all the other family members to come to Vegas & leave one Mom home I wouldn't feel right about.



Good thing I am Internet savvy as I will get to read about it here.

Maybe you can come next year. MM'06 will probably be the first week of May and Mother's Day is the second Sunday, right? You are getting short changed if you have to miss all the talks scheduled during the week, the Dyno Days, etc. It's too bad some folks can't get more time off.
