I've been wondering as 2002 approaches and my 1992 reaches its 10th birthday, do the Mopar dealers and others (NAPA, etc. ) stop stocking parts for our machines as they do for lots of other vehicles? Or are we 1st Genners spending so much $$$ on parts that they can't afford to cut us off?

of course, I can't speak for those compaines, but they ran this platform for over 20 years, so there are a lot of them out there...

also, they are trucks which tend to stay in service longer because after the form dies out, the function still remains!!!

I wouldn't worry...

NAPA and most parts houses still list most of the parts I use on my 49 and 66 1-ton powerwagons(brake shoes, wheel cylinders, filters, ignition parts, gas caps, light bulbs, etc. ). If they ever start slacking off, I'm sure that "Vintage Powerwagons" in Fairfield, IA will have an adequate supply.

So, I feel pretty optimistic about parts for my 1st Gen. While this may be a good example of flawed logic, I am hopeful.
