Time for an update. Most everything has been cosmetic in nature. A couple loads of dirt and grass seed to fix the lawn. A string of lights under the lean to so I can see under there. Seventeen dump trucks of asphalt millings spread and raked out. A cat 5 line and wireless router give me great internet out there and the cable line is all ready for the eventual TV is done.

My my dad and I got bored on Labor Day and started the porch/steps off the side door. I will wait until next year when everything settles a little more before actually making the steps.

I was planning on waiting on plumbing, countertops and cabinets until next year but I came across a Craigslist find I couldn't pass up. I guess if you buy a new refrigerator that doesn't fit, it's easier to rip everything out and replace it than to get a smaller refrigerator. I ended up with a new dishwasher for the house, a microwave for the shop, and even a stove/oven. I'm not sure what to do with that one but since I'm not allowed to bake open lights or powder coat in the house, I might have a new use for it. I ended up buying one sink base, one counter and one sink for the lower set.

Upper "lounge" waiting area.

My wife is now getting involved with the build so I gave her a wall to work on.

Next is running a chimney for the wood stove and insulating the ceiling. Then, pretty much done.....Right....

Well the shop is done. It took to the day, 1 year. There are a few small things I will do when I'm bored but I am up and running.

The all important air compressor and sand blast cabinet.

A 40 gallon parts washer.

Two 65 foot, 1/2 inch air hose reels.

The wood stove. That thing works GREAT. Within an hour, it took the shop from 40-60 degrees with a fairly small amount of wood. The lower part of the shop usually stays around 70 and 75 in the loft area. Very comfortable.

And finally, the all important TV and sound system. I still get to be in the shop and have parts of my family happy to be out there as well.
