I just got a telephone call from my local dealers Service Manager telling me the check is in the mail from DC. What for? I discovered through the various TDR info repositories that my original equipment t'stat was one in the "defective" batch. I had the dealer replace it but as my 98. 5 truck at 40k miles was not in warranty, and my extended didn't cover this I had to fork over the bills.
I did and the temp difference is remarkable but why did I have to pay for "defective" original equipment. So I wrote the dealers Service Mgr. , he took my request to the DC Dist. rep. and VOILA, the reimbursement check is in the mail.
Never hurts to ask politely. Do you suppose I should go back to 'em for the postage?
