I bought my truck brand new in 2004 and joined this forum around that time. Been 17 years. Still have the vibe.
Many had the infamous driveline vibration at 60-70mph. I remember taking mine in for warranty and the dealership refused to test drive it cause they didn't allow their techs to drive over the speed limit LOL.
Probably around 2010 I had the rear driveshaft entirely rebuilt... I mean the guy cut both yokes off, rewelded them on, dynamically balanced it and installed new u-joints. Still had the vibe.
Used many different tires over the years. Now I use Toyos exclusively. Running 35's. I also had the death wobble early on when I put BFG 35's on it. Still had a DW tendency no matter what tires I had. The ultimate fix was an aftermarket steering box. But still have the driveline vibe except it moved up to 70-80mph with the larger dia tires.
I just read a guys post on another forum from back in 2010 who said the dealership replaced the entire driveline bit by bit and still didn't get rid of it. I'm talking driveshafts, axles, transmission, transfer case. They called in the engineers who did extensive vibration diagnosis and found the exhaust system was resonating at a certain frequency and adding a weight to it at a calculated spot stopped the vibe. BTW I do have the weight on my power steering hose that was also known to cause a vibe. I've also had aftermarket exhaust for a long time.
Anybody out there had the issue and got it resolved entirely?
