Are ya ready for Monday Sleddy?

I got really comfortable hearing the "Cummins squeal" everytime I shut off the engine. Recently I replaced the belt, and since then - No squeal.

Is that explained by a more gradual stop of the engine, or should I be worried?

Thank you.

Thetype of belt you replaced with and possibly a different setting on the belt tensioner are probably the culprit. I'd be bummed too, its my little reminder that I bought a HD truck. :)

I replaced mine with a Goodyear belt - it had some type of a cross hatch pattern on it and it stopped as well.

I wouldn't worry about it - it's just the engine is stopping faster than the components and squealing... .

I replaced my OEM belt with a Gatorback and the tensioner with a new aftermarket tensioner as I was getting a terrible squeel. The squeel went away for a while then came back! Put the OEM belt back on and haven't had a problem since.
