Anyone planning a trip to Florida??

Fiver verse Airstream

We went Sunday and I looked around at all the RVs. The one that really impressed me the most was the Country Coach

When I win the lottery, I will look at these again :)

WOW! The engines in those things are monsters! 600HP/2000FPT! Sipping 5MPG of diesel.

Those fall into the category, "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it!" :-laf

I probably could pay cash at this moment in time :) but don't like that type of RV. The maintenance costs and the fact you can't drive it around when you arrive at your RV park and have to tow your local transportation which eliminates your boat. Wife won't let me buy a new 5ver cause theres nothing wrong with the one I have :(

Good for you - nice to have $1+MM in pocket change, isn't it? The comment was made many years ago regarding expensive boats, Rolls Royces, etc. and wasn't aimed at you directly - it was a general comment about the Country Coach and similar lines of motorcoaches.

Where just having fun and no offence taken that being said I figured that the price would have been in the 250K range. There is no way I can or would pay cash or credit for even 500K let alone 1. 5M. That would be a waste of money in the worst way, can not even imagine what the loss would be the moment you drive that POS off the lot.

What would you do with your 3500? I like my "driving around" vehicle to be attached to the front of the RV, not the back... :-laf

One thing that I've leaned in many years of RVing is that trailer and motorhome buyers fall into two separate and divided camps. I'm a trailer kind of guy and I can give a lot of reasons why I cannot understand how any rational person could conclude that a motorhome is a good idea. On the other hand, look along the road. The motorhome business is huge. Most of the folks I have talked to with motorhomes are crazy about them and could not see themselves RVing any other way. So who am I to judge them?

I think it boils down to how you are going to use the RV and your personal analysis of the pros and cons. How much you want or are able to spend also figures in although truck and trailer combinations can reach well into the motorhome price range.

Whatever you decide, you will find lots of friends on the road.
