Does anyone have any info on this Walker Airsep product?

I am tired of cleaning up oil spots on my driveway from the crankcase breather. I haven't see anyone mention this product on their trucks yet.

Is there any other suggestions on stopping the dreaded drips? #ad
(I'm tired of immitating a Harley)

Thanks, Sparky

Am trying to come up with a catch bottle and have it vented to let out the crank case pressure... jus haven't had any time, but am getting to the point like you... am tired of the drips. I talked to a buddy with a bus company and he says when the buses start smoking and dripping he jus re-routs the tube into the intake. . lol i thought that was funny. JB

I went to a hardware store and got a piece of plastic tubing about six feet long. Replaced the stock tube and ran the long one inside the frame rail. No drips or mess. No bottle in the way. Cheap fix.

I used 12ft of 3/4 heater hose and mounted bottle on 4x4 transfer case skid plate. Go straight up from fitting, get hose as high as possible before you head down. Nothing in bottle in 3500 miles, smells better to. A piece of bent conduit up front would be and look even better.

Hey Spark.

I had my oil drips fixed by my dealer. All he did was order a new re-circulation canister and hose and mounted it to the frame. wala no oil drips and no oil smell after oil change.

Is this something that was changed for the 2001 trucks? I have no oil smell and no drips what so ever. Just wondering is all.

When I joined the TDR I kept hearing about the oil drips. I was getting paranoid since I didn't have any. Turns out that the 2001 has an arrangement of hose and cannister to contain the drips. They recommend cleaning it at every oil change.

I can't imagine why it would not fit earlier models, but who knows. Might be worth a look.

Kat trust me you have the smell you just think it is normal for a diesel. Move that bottle away from the fan and you will see what I mean. Oh by the way i did not have any drips either, but bottle had oil in it just a matter of time.

I wonder if some of that blow-down pressure just exits via the dipstick tube??? At 60K, I have none of the much-publicized drip w/my 98. 4 12-er, but the upper end of the dipstick tube has a thin layer of oily dirt. Not to "rub it in"--just curious why not, when everybody else seems to have that "problem"---rich(easily recognizable by my clean driveway)

Mine did not have the problem until I had over 100K miles on it. It never did drip on the floor and probably still does not. I just got tired of the film of "rust proofing" whenever I serviced it and the smell after an oil change.

I put a 8" piece of plastic tubing that fit snug on outside of the stock drop tube (basically just made it longer)and haven't had a problem since. I think that most of the dripage comes from oil on the under body, with the extension the oil ends up on the road. No hose clamps just an easy fit so that if it gets caught on something it pulls right off. Surprized to hear about the canister on the newer rigs,if they can fix a minor oil leak why can't DC fix 5th gears, track arms and return fuel line problems?

Hey Alpenlite,

I went to my dealer today to get my trailer hitch checked (and get the wonderful reinforcing brackets), no cracks noted. I asked him about the Re-circulation canister setup for the oil drips. Well, he looked at me like I had just grown a third eye ball, a spike horn out of the top of my head and a tail out of my butt!!! He said he has never heard about a canister on any of the trucks no matter what the year.

He said it comes from to much oil in the crank case and it blows it out everywhere it can. Sounds like a load of BullS--t to me as it just started leaking bad the last several days. The oil level has not changed for four months!! #ad

I didn't have time to go outside and check a new truck for myself. I guess I will have to make a trip back there later. I wish I had access to a real dealership, This one really leaves a lot to be desired!!!

Frustrated Again,
Sparky
