Hey, Texas, wanna trade?

Enough Is Enough!!!

Well My expansive shop build is getting closer to being done. It started out as a naked poor , a hallway and sheathed studs. Now with hallway removed , and lam beam installed , 100 amp stand alone service with shop air plumbed in wall and 5 8 foot t-8 quad flourescent lights to go in next. The exterior walls are insulated with a R value of 30 and thermo lined. 5/8ths sheetrock all arround and FRP paneling for a final wall prep. The floor was mechanicly abraded and epoxyshielded. And of course cable , broadband , and home network ports are at hand as well. Two 30,000 BTU heating units are in the entire shop (One per bay) and A/C will be next. Still have a few things to finish (Ceiling taping , lighting and heat but the dream is getting close. Oo. Basicly working on it in spare time , after work , and taking it slow as planning and fabrication is all in my head. (Next to the voices anyhow)

This is the epoxyshield applied after the floor was abraded with shot blast.

The Air control center is Plumbed in wall with a seperator. That box lid closes flush and I texture painted it to match the FRP wallboard tecture. The guage sits nicely in the hole for easy pressure monitoring.

This shot shows the Office end of the shop area and on the left side (Just out of picture view) will house the 56" X 42" deep rollaway toolbox bottom. The side shown will have the P/c , and audio / video housed in wall as soon as I get the countertop area done.

This is the view the toolBox will have looking out. The doors will be 2" double insulated units.

Obviously, you don't plan on putting greasy, diesel pickup trucks in there???

And I'm with DL5trees, got my dollar bills and greasy hands ready.

One more question: What in the hell is that Furd oval doing hanging on door? You've got a lot of explaining to do.

Sorry, just had to give you a little grief on that one.

TMTT,

That is one very nice garage. I am sure that you will have lots of friends waiting to use the space when it is 20 degrees out and time for their oil change or bombs.

Tim: That looks a LOT different than when I saw it last summer...

Looks freakin sweet, man. It's giving me a complex about my future garage, though. Mine is going to be 24'x24' of 2x4 stud walls with no insulation/heat, crappy lighting, and no shop air for quite a while until I can hustle the cash to fix it up... :)

The floor was the only thing I had contracted out and was done by Home Depot in home services. It works out to be 3 bucks a square foot. The company that did it through HD was epoxy Tech if memory serves me right. It really is a slick deal. It's warranteed for 5 years on everything and 5 on product only. They come out blast the floor (Leveling it at the same time) then first bonding coat goes down. Then the first epoxy layer. while that layer is going down they litterally dump 100 lbs of epoxy flakes in the color and size of your choice on top of that first layer. they wait and return the following day and strip off the excess and lay down the top bonding coat (Stinks to wholly high heaven like a body shop that works on fiberglass bodies and antifreeze) that self levels and litterally sinks into the floor kind of melting the flakes in the process and bonds it all together.

I also forgot to mention that there is an air exchange / exhaust system i installed in the ceiling that is plumbed out thru the gable vent. It'l flow 1600 cfm of air which is juuust right for efficient changeover without being obnoxious.

Oh,I see why,the bar isnt ready :D

Oh heck yeah ... it's a mess Oo. I will grab some pics for ya when I clean her up. The lighting is surgical. Litterally

6 8foot quad 42 watt flourescent linear lights , one hid 4 foot center unit. Basicly when the truck is inside you don't need a drop light UNDERNEATH the truck :-laf

I am working on a in wall welding cabinet that will house my gas and two extra spools  with just the face of the lincoln SP-135 welder poking thru on a sliding tray (I Know ... PIMP!!! ) that my dad hooked me up with.
