Northern Lights in Iowa 12/14/06

Flash high beams for police warning!

Pittsburgh, and Erie Pa, Youngstown Ohio.

It is run by a Dr. Vale, who has done like 6000 surgerys.

I'm looking at about $600 per eye. Down from $1200, month of Nov. ONLY,only,only... ... I think I trusted them more with the high price.

Anybody heard of this outfit? Thay have not been on 60 minutes or anything, have they?

Just trying to find out all I can before they hacksaw my eyeball.

Thanks,

Gene:D

All I can say is:

Don't let them do both eyes at once.

And if you go blind in the first eye, don't let them do the other.

Doc

H i mgm; With your eyes maybe you should stay away from the bargin basement, without doing a lot of research. I had mind done in May
by Pittsburgh Eye Care Assoc. it was a procedure called PRK, which is
different from Lasik. Of course it cost $ 2,100 per eye but right know I
have 20/15 vision. Good Luck I love it.

ROFLMAO @ Doc ! :D :D :D I wouldn't let the cut- rate (cut, heehee, get it) scare me, sounds like a good deal. Those prices are comparable to the ones they were promoting in Las Vegas a year or two ago. Seems like more of a gamble to go to Las Vegas. :D

Oh, you two are Sooooo funny.

Doc, you never considered it?

Frank ram, how long ago had you had it done. ?

They keep talking about starbursts, but I have that now, it can't be worse.

Briar, in your situation, would you chance it?

My mother had the procedure done, and it cost quite a bit more, but hers included an implanted lense to replace the ones they removed in a cataract surgery 25 years before. . A couple friends have had it done too, and both of them had excellent results. They both drove up to Canada, and each paid about 1200 for both eyes. So far, they have had excellent results.

But that "starburst" thing is really just Sheryl banging you over the head with a cast iron skillet for being so mean to me all the time :)

I had my done on May 4, 2001, unlike Lasik it takes 3 or 4 days to really start
to see, I had it done on a Friday and was in good shape by Monday. I would recommend getting one eye done at a time.

Pw,

Everything I say to you is meant to be taken in the nicest way possible!;)

Frank,

I considered a few years ago what you had done, but was actually told by a Doctor to wait a few years for the Lasik to come out.

What were your reasons to go with the PRK?

Gene

Hey MGM, have them implant some rose colored lenses, brighten up your anal outlook on life ... . :D

If it gets rid of that bug-eyed look ya got, I'm all for it!

On a serious note:You asked if I would I chance it? With my hearing gone, naturally my sight is all I have left. I don't know. I've thought about it many times. I probably would do it. It wouldn't be the first or last time I'd taken a chance, I've been through 10 surgeries, all had a big risk of costing my life. There's not really a whole lot of risk to Lasik, the odds are very much in your favor.

Have them do your non-dominant eye first, that way, ya got one good one left to sight down a gun barrel at the eye quack.

LMAO @ Briar

You better look out, Briar. If you offend Gene, you won't be able to start your "Two Truck Event Club". LOL

I never even thought about getting that done, Gene. Glasses are fine for me. Just think. . if you loose your eye site, Sheryl will have to drive you around in your truck. And no more truck pulls for you. That would be a major bummer.

Doc

Clean your glasses, Doc, and tell me how many fingers I'm holding up... . :D Yep..... Just one. :D

Well, Gene, Doc sez "Nay", I say "Yay". Derned misguided myopic Michigan mechanic... . LOL. He can't see the lugnuts on a school bus, and I can't see to find the corncobs in the outhouse, no matter how much light that half-moon cutout lets through... and Gene, you can't see to read brand names on clutch boxes...

Why does everything come back to clutches!?!?!?!!!!?!??!

They'd let me pull, or I would leave the place in ruins!

Briar could ride with me shouting, Left! Right! STOP!

Richard Pryor, and Gene Wilder, LMAO!:D :D

Now that is scary.

As far as the laser stuff goes, hope you do something quick. It bothers me to see you begging for body parts to put your truck back together. :D

I read up a little on that site too Gene. Some scary stuff there. I know 1 to 3 % seems small until you consider how many people have had that kind of surgery. I'll just keep wearing the glasses and contacts. Look at the diet pill problems. Oh yeah, 5 years ago, there was no problem with the Phen-fen and redux. Then some people ended up dieing over them. Now, all of a sudden, maybe these pills sin't so good after all.

I don't mind the glasses so much. As long as you get a comfortabe pair that are light and don't slip. Now they sell them with magnetic sunglasses clips. I got a pair and love them. Just stick em one when I go out. Hell, I hardly ever wear my contacts anymore since I got these.

When they quit calling it "an experimental clinical procedure" and offer a money back guarantee, then I'll be a lot more comfortable. 'Til then... ...
