cop arrests fireman ?

Saw this on tv the other day flipping thru the channels. Its on national geographic and it follows a "wild man" who just walked away from the world and lives over in the Hoh rain forest like a Big Foot. Its not a reality show, he is a real guy. Kind of different and interesting if anyone is interested. It goes just a little farther than Big Nasty's new way of life.

I was flipping through the channels the other day and ran across it. I watched two episodes of it. It was different. What a character though.

What a bunch of crap. Ever notice he's in the Pacific Northwest but it's always sunny. He keeps no foul weather gear, has no shelter, but he's warm and dry. Some people will watch water boil.

I imagine they film on warmer and sunnier days. But we do get some sun out here. I dont know if youve ever spent any time in the Hoh, I have.

Im just surprised that he is so clean. Probably the film guys cleaning him up. Its not a show to watch all the time. But its more interesting than a lot of the crap that Ive seen folks admit to on the tdr. And no. We dont wear "foul weather gear" when its not raining.

I wouldn't expect you to. The show claims he has no permanent residence. How does he stay warm and dry? How does he stay clean? What does he eat when not on camera? I may be biased from watching all the BS logging shows but I see nothing real about a reality show.

Well, its not a reality show. There was a write up on him in the Tacoma newspaper a year or two ago. He is a real guy and really lives like that.

The guy really lives like that. They have shown his winter shelter and he does have stashes where he has gear to keep himself dry. His winter dwelling is right on the coast in a cave under a tree.

Yeh, weve had a couple like that around here. Years ago there were some survivalists who went to live like hermits over in the olympic penninsula. Some of those guys are kind of crazy.

Oh, it's a reality show alright. Just because it Nat GEO doesn't mean they aren't in the entertainment business.. Try following the film crew around and watch how they stage every shot, and coach every line. Nothing is as it seems.

All that is missing is a Pelletier Brother in the background saying "I don't know if we can make payroll this week?" .......

We had a kid (teenager) a few years ago who ran away from home up on Camano Island. He lived out in the woods for I think it was a couple of years. He would steal from houses, stores, stole cars, etc. He would always leave a calling card. Sometimes even a picture of himself. He even taught himself how to fly and stole an airplane. I think they finally caught up to him down in florida when he stole a boat. I forget what his name was.
