Any of you ever see that movie, with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz? It was made in the 50's. Great movie, if you can find it at a rental place. I especially like the part where Desi is trying to back up the trailer for the very first time at her folks' house, with all of her relatives watching and shouting directions.

I saw it a long long time ago, dont remember much about it except that trailer looked like a 60 footer behind that car they were towing it with, funny movie. :D

Laughed till I cried!

I was born in 59 and I didn't see it until the wife and I were stuck inside the 5er on a cold rainy day while vacationing in the mountains a couple of years ago. I was surfing thru the satellite channels and caught it on the TMC (I think) channel. We sat and watched it and I thought we were gonna die laughing. I can't imagine what the other campers thought when they heard the howling coming out of our trailer. :D :D :D :D

I can still picture that crazy Redhead trying to cook while Desi was driving!!:D :D :D

I liked Lucy's rock collection. My wife is allways picking up "pretty"??? rocks to bring home. We too happened on to the movie about a year ago on sat. TV. Unfortunately, we are old enough that we also saw it when it was a new release.

I know a couple that have had a few experences lately that reminded me of that movie. I'm looking for a copy, as I think every RVer should own one.

I saw that movie so long ago that the only part I remember is the rock collection that Merryman mentioned. For some reason that part stuck in my memory. I'll go rent it an make Mrs Doc watch it with me sometime :)

We got home from our 9,000 mile trek across the U. S. and Canada pulling our fifth wheel and rented the movie one evening. If I had seen the movie before we went we probably would have sold the fifth wheel and stayed home!!!!

LOL merryman

My wife does the same thing. When we go on a 2 or 3 weeker, we come home heavier than when we left. :)

Can't say much about the trailer bit. Lucille Ball is/was not one of my favorite people to watch. Even as a kid I didn't like her.

That movie ROCKED. Remember that little steep road he was going up and it was crumbling at the edge as he went! Then the thing got stuck in the mud in the pouring rain. The best part was when he arrived at Lucy's relatives house and was backing up, listening to everyboby's instructions and reading some all at the same time and took out the neighbors lattice and plants!

Desi would have had a lot more fun if Hollywood gave him a real towing rig... diesel comes to mind!;)

A co-worker told me "if you can go a week with your spouse in a trailer without killing each other, you got a good marraige". I think he's pretty close!

Your trailer looks about the same as Desi and Lucy's trailer, Steve. From now on, I'll think of you and Wendy as the French Ricardo's. LOL

Doc

I remember that movie!

Although I haven't seen it for many years I still remember it pretty well. I remember seeing it before they added the color to it as well.
