Competition 6 spd, dyno in 5th or 6th?

O. K. I'm really going out on a limb now. I've got ten hooks under my belt and I am wanting more. In my area, we run street diesel with front hanging weights and 2. 5 inducer. I am thrilled to death with the way my truck pulls, and usually finish in the middle of the pack. (My association sees a turn out of around 30 trucks in this class. ) The frustrating part is that I am usually about 6 to 8 feet from placing. I am running out of things to try with my combination. Other than what I have listed in my signature, I run 2nd gear on the high side with short (265) all terrain tires. My hitch is mounted 8 inches forward of stock. I run down the track at about 21. 2 mph(actual measured ground speed) I need some help stepping outside and looking in. When the spikes go in the ground, I have enough power to spin on most tracks. I killed it on one hard packed track. I ran on a hard packed track last night, but spun out at the end. I think it is probably due to the low end benefit of the Smarty. I didn't have it on the other track. I have only two hooks that were sub 300ft. runs. My question is what now? Bigger injectors? My brain is getting tired. I'll also mention that I am using the fuel up. I only smoke at the beginning and at the end when I bog. The middle is a gray mist. Money is no object (Well it is, but let's pretend for a while):-laf

Let me hear what the masses think.

Ok...

Get some 7x. 012" injectors from Diesel Darryl (Darryl Poole)... that will run really well if your charger is 2. 5".

Also, I would recommend getting some larger tires...

Either 285 or 33x12. 50. The 33's will give you the necessary wheel speed. Just make sure to buy tires that match your power level... . I think something like a ProComp all terrain on the tough tracks would be great. Now on the mud trucks (rare this year) a set of MTX's from Mickey Thompson work wonders.

Is your hitch moved forward? Are you right at 26"?

OK Here's Friday night.

Please forgive me for the lack of editing. You may FForward through the DMax:-laf

The first vid of the red Dodge is me now. The second is my first pull. I was afraid I would break something. The gentle bounce on the outside felt like an earthquake on the inside. I didn't decide to go until half track when I figured out it was almost over. I've learned a little bit since then. LOL

I'm still working on my technique also. I'm finding myself watching the lines others take, and choosing the shiny spots on my run down. Tracks are pretty tight down here. My home track, as I know Gene knows, is tight as they come. It's the only place I ever killed my truck at the end. It's like blacktop. Many an axle has been broke down here in Cyn city. My best run was on a track where everyone was throwing dirt over the sled. I spun all the way up the track.
