Ive been working for a Freight Carrier company now for a few months, currently on the dock, loading and unloading trailers, about to move into the truck shop, as a mechanic.

we run 3 switcher tractors and move trailers from door to door at the dock and bring up trailers from the lot. these mules are all running the 12valve 5. 9 with the VE pump. and ive seen them pull out with 60,000+lbs loads and im mean gettin it buddy:D they smoke like a pig, but they pull like a scalded dog. very impressed with the little monster we have in out pickups. thought yall would get a kick outa that.

If you like the VE model mules. Try one of the 24 valve models.

I moved a trailer the other day with a gross of 75K. It pulled it with no problem. The problem happened when I droped the trailer. The landing gears went threw the floor. :-laf :-laf We were lucky. The trailer beside it kept it from flopping on its side. The driver side duals were 2' off the ground.

haha, shoot philip, sounds like you have fun at work. i didnt know you were a switcher, who do you work for? when its when out, our switchers will put the nose of the truck against the dock and just roast the tires till they get a good pile of wet rubber behind em. they also run the trucks in reverse then dump it in drive, an squal the tires.

ah peter, i may stray from time to time but i know where my home is :D i was playin with a Cummins ISX the other day at school. they are awesome. the exhaust was a 5inch down pipe pointed up about 6 inches long. that baby sang a sweet tune. you could feel it in your chest.

 Sounds like morons to me.

no argument there, :-laf, im about to move into the truck shop, and i can tell you right now, since ive seen first hand what they do to them trucks, they aint gonna get any simpathy from me when they come to the shop hollerin about the trucks givin them trouble.

That 24 valve truck can roast them from a dead stop. :D

We have two P-pump trucks also. I would rather have a VE pump in those two trucks. They are gutlass. The VE engines in yard trucks came with POD's in them. They would blow those other two away no problem.

I work for a alumn conversion company. We remelt other companys turnings from production work.

I was working in maint untill I had to have a pace maker put in this last spring. So the company decided to play it safe and move me into the yard truck. I didn't take a pay cut so I can't complain one bit.

Jimmy... I was beginning to wonder if the high fuel prices and economy cars had claimed your soul, too.

Good to see you're still getting greasy with 15w40 and good old No. 2 oil.

I know that the POD injectors are factory installed but are you SURE they were factory installed with a BOSCH pump as the injectors would be made by Lucas Cav, thus a Lucas Cav injection pump is hung on the gear case... ... ... . no? That just don't sound right.

My specs book sez the pump is Cav.

Give the CPL of said engine if you can.

yea matt, ive been buisy out of my mind for a while now. i go to my diesel classes 25 hours a week and work on the dock 30-35 hours a week. and im about to go in the shop where he says ill be working between 45-55hours. so my time on here is close to none. i dont get enough sleep anyway. but yea ive been trying to get back intouch with yall old pals.
