Like it says, from time to time usually when I romp on it to pass cars *past 4 times now* I get that lil fancy orange light with a P0336 crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance. The truck had the CPS replaced once b4 I bought it by the previous owner *friend* for the same problem and it still rears it ugly head. But I clear the code with the Smarty and it stays clear until whenever it decides to throw it again. From time to time it does sound what I think is timing rattle down low in the rpms and at idle. Any insite on this, its starting to get alil annoying.

Perhaps it's not the sensor. . but symptoms that the ECM see as originating with the sensor? Such as, the boxes - both of which are at least capable of adding timing.

What happens if you pull one, the other, both?

I usually get a 336 cps code every now and then as well. It is usually happens at low rpms, truck misses, kicks the lite and then everything is normal. Light goes off and it doesn't happen again for a couple months. Has done this ever since I added the TST 60k ago.
