Ford boys are at it again....

Okay guys I know I'm weird but I'll bet I'm far from alone on this. This weekend while coming home from our Allis-Chalmers tractor club Christmas party we made a trip across town that had us going under some long overpasses that covered about 8 lanes of the highway. Well while under them I couldn't resist the temptation to let the Cummins roar through it's BHAF and straight piped 4" exhaust. Man I love that noise! My wife says it hurts her ears when I do that but to me it was sweet music. Well while on my way home tonight alone I made my way under an old concrete railroad overpass where the road is on a fairly steep grade. Although the temperature was in the 40s I couldn't resist the temptation again and rolled the windows down and powered up the hill :-laf Gotta love that Cummins music. So guys how about it anyone else weird like me? Let's hear about it.

GUILTY! #ad
Who needs air conditioning during the summer when you can stay cool, AND listen to your truck rumble! In the winter months just turn the heat up a little more and make em roar!

Ya gota love them electric windows, I like the spool-down sound on deceleration in town. My radio/CD is wasted in my truck, even if I have the windows up, I like to listen to the motor hummin. :)

I grew up in the era of the C, CA, WC, & WD Allis-Chalmers Tractors, if you were fortunate, you had a WD-45. The badest of the bad at the time, they also, all had good sounding mufflers. The Farmall's of the same era, were too quiet :(

i do that all the time... and it's even nicer when you get a car beside you either a- close their window from the noise, or b- open their window to listen better :D:D

i passed a guy today in a pretty new silver jetta tdi who did [at least it looked that way] option B...

Every time I go to the gym I take a shortcut between two large buildings (a Staples and a Hobby Lobby), roll down the window, and let it rip.

i love rolling down the windows when im passing thru the tunnels on the PA turnpike, downshifting then speeding up and grabbing another gear... :-laf

during the winter months i crank the heat and open my quarter glass windows and listen to that turbo sing!! :D

Man, it's music to my ears! My ex (yes, I just ended a four year relationship... AND was engaged! :( ) thought it was annoying! Need a girl who loves that Cummins growl! I had it straight piped too. That was awesome, then I put the muffler back on to actually hear the turbo wine coming from the engine, but relized I could hear it just as well! I would drive around downtown between all the building with my windows down... sometimes is was 15 degree, but it didn't matter! Most of the time, I don't even use my cd player that I have in there... I just like listening to my engine. I wind it up going up steep hills!!! Love that turbo!! I have an addiction, and I love it!!

I usually leave my rear windows open for the same effect all the time. even when its 20* outside, the little openings of the back windows dont make it much colder. :D

My brother tells of a story when he was playing in a tunnel. The interstate makes short trip throught the mountain which makes for great accustics  . well anyways, I think it was pretty close to after he had just put the stacks on his 12v, and he was making her roar through the tunnel. well, he hears a crackle over the radio and turns out its a pete behind him talkin, he says something to the effect of "listen to this".

So the ol pete gets some #2 dumped to it and it starts to shake. My brother said that he would a swore that the mountain was come down him. don't know what enging that pete was runnin, but it was straight stacked and LOUD :D . gotta love it!

Every time i go over there, we have to make a couple runs through tunnnels, who cares if it's 0 degrees, we got heaters! :-laf

I'm Guilty too!

I find myself opening the rear slider a few inches to listen to the sweet sound of music and I'm not talkin' about my radio. I hardly ever use it :) With the 4" stack just outside the window, and addin' the fuel going up a hill, nothing sounds sweeter. I have more fun driving my 89 than I do my 02 :-laf
