I think we are one of only a few states that have Red Hot Dogs......people that move away never adjust to brown Hot Dogs and force friends and relatives to ship them some every chance that they get....

One of the guys brought his hot dog steamer in the other day, we are going to hold it hostage for an indefinite amount of time......it's 11.20 and we have filled it for the second time today already...

Our red dogs.....

I've never seen em down this way. Why red? Are they spicy? Hmmm sheep casing- they never describe the casing material, but I call em snap dogs.
We have a huge choice of great dogs- Boars Head, Nathan's, Sabrett. I could go on, the choice at the store is crazy.
Now the real question--- what do you put on them, and what do you put them on?
Dang you're making me hungry.

Hmmmmm......I always knew you East Coasters were a strange breed!

I think half of Alaska is comprised of relocated Mainers, ask any of them about Red Hot Dogs........they will wanna' know if you have any.....I've seen cases of them flown up there packed in ice....

Hell if I know what the casings are, never dared ask.....:D There are some things I do not want to know.....

Even our rolls look different than that city stuff, regardless we just steam the roll for a minute and slap Ketchup, Mustard and Relish on them.

Now if you GRILL the dogs in a cast iron skillet then fried onions go in the roll with them....and you grill the roll (buttered of course) as well....

Says sheep casing right on your package.

Steaming the rolls. Hmmm. We just use em out of the package. Just some think ketchup is a travesty on a dog.
Sometimes I'll slice em and throw em in Bushs beans.
We only grill dogs without skins aka non snap dogs.
Mmmmmm. Having a Homer moment.

I saw that "Sheep Casing" thing, honest to God I've never questioned what they were......could have been "Slaughtered Unicorn Casing" for all I knew.....:D:D

Pondering the rolls, I guess ours would be "Top Load" instead of "Side Load".............

Ahhhhh. Nothing like gearheads describing food in mechanical terms.

Yea we got em in top load. A couple different styles, including one that's kinda cast in a U shape, and you just drop the dog in.
